John C. Scarpitti, AWMA®, AIF®
John joined Hunter Associates in 2011. Prior to joining Hunter Associates, John served clients in the investment industry for more than 30 years, most recently with Parker/Hunter, Inc. and its successor firm, as executive vice president. He currently serves on the management committee of Hunter Associates.
John holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Mount Union and a master’s degree from Miami University. John has completed the accredited wealth management program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, John holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation awarded by The Center for Fiduciary Studies.
John is a trustee of the Sebring West Branch Community Foundation. He also serves as a member of the board of directors for the Copeland Oaks/Crandall Medical Center and Grandview Cemetery.
Accredited Wealth Management Advisor: The AWMA® designation is awarded by the College for Financial Planning. Individuals who hold the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor or AWMA® designation have completed a course of study encompassing asset management, investment strategies, estate planning and more with the goal of helping clients preserve, grow, and transfer their wealth. Additionally, individuals must pass an end-of-course examination.
Accredited Investment Fiduciary™: The AIF® credential is awarded by The Center for Fiduciary Studies. To attain the AIF® credential the candidate must meet a point-based threshold based on a combination of education, relevant industry experience and/or professional development. Candidates complete a course that prepares participants to conduct fiduciary assessments on a plan or firms’ conformance to legal and regulatory obligations associated with the fiduciary standard and professional best practices. Additionally, individuals must pass a final certification examination.
