Erica L. Snyder, CFP®, AIF®
PRESIDENT & CEO
Erica, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined Hunter Associates in 2003. As an investment advisor, Erica specializes in providing investment counsel and financial planning to individuals, families, trusts and charitable foundations. Prior to joining Hunter Associates, Erica was affiliated with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, where she worked in collaboration with firm representatives and clients to develop planning and investment approaches. She also worked with a midwestern brokerage firm, specializing in equity and municipal bond trading.
Erica holds a degree in economics, with honors, from Michigan State University. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation awarded by The Center for Fiduciary Studies. Erica received an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning through Duquesne University’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute®, an executive education program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Erica is active in the industry and in various civic organizations in her community. She serves as a Trustee and the Vice Chair of SIFMA’s Securities Industries Institute and a committee member of the Private Client Services Group. She is a member of both the Pittsburgh chapter of the Financial Planning Association and the Pittsburgh Society of Investment Professionals. She serves as the Vice Chair of the local American Red Cross and a board member of Riverview Children’s Center and Quantum Theatre. She also participates with the Pittsburgh Chapter of CISV, a youth multicultural global peace awareness program, and the local chapter for AFS, the leading international high school exchange program.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®): The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) program is administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. Those with the CFP® designation have demonstrated competency in all areas of finance related to financial planning. Candidates complete studies on many topics, including stocks, bonds, taxes, insurance, retirement planning and estate planning. In addition to passing the CFP certification exam, candidates must also complete qualifying work experience and agree to adhere to the CFP Board’s code of ethics and professional responsibility and financial planning standards.
Accredited Investment Fiduciary™: The AIF® credential is awarded by The Center for Fiduciary Studies. To attain the AIF® credential the candidate must meet a point-based threshold based on a combination of education, relevant industry experience and/or professional development. Candidates complete a course that prepares participants to conduct fiduciary assessments on a plan or firms’ conformance to legal and regulatory obligations associated with the fiduciary standard and professional best practices. Additionally, individuals must pass a final certification examination.
