Hunter Associates is pleased to announce the hiring of Philip Bartels and Abbey Erdlen.

Bartels will help perform securities research, macroeconomic research and hedging strategy implementation. Prior to joining Hunter Associates, Bartels held investment analyst/economist positions in both Europe and the United States with Wellington Management Company, the European Central Bank, Allianz Global Investors and Deutsche Bank AG. Bartels holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Williams College and an M.A. in international economics and international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Pittsburgh CFA Society.

Erdlen will fill the role of administrative associate. She will support the administrative team in the Pittsburgh office and she brings to Hunter Associates a strong set of skills in the area of administration. Erdlen holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in international politics. Prior to joining the firm, Erdlen held positions with several professional businesses in and around the Pittsburgh area.
